Because they were (and still are xD) my OTP from "Avatar: The Last Airbender"! <3 ATLA is one of my favorites series, and it hold a very special place in my heart :') I wanted to draw Aang and Katara a bit older than they were in the series, like in their early adulthood-or late teenage years xD- (like 18 or 19 years old) and in their Season 3 outfit (Season 3 is my favorite) ^ ^

So yeah...ignore the water effects 'cause I'm still trying to draw things properly xD
